II PETER 1:1-11

  1     ¶  Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ:

II PETER 1:2

  2    Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,

II PETER 1:3

  3    According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that [pertain] unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:

II PETER 1:4

  4    Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

II PETER 1:5

  5     ¶  And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;

II PETER 1:6

  6    And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;

II PETER 1:7

  7    And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.

II PETER 1:8

  8    For if these things be in you, and abound, they make [you that ye shall] neither [be] barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

II PETER 1:9

  9    But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.

II PETER 1:10

  10    Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:

II PETER 1:11

  11    For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

STATURE.OF.A.PERFECT.MAN_  JEFF.IN  V-2 N-18  SUNDAY_  62-1014M

  7-1    So now, let us read now I Peter--II Peter, rather, the 1st chapter, portion of it.

Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ:

I like the way that's stated right there, because my whole subject this morning is based on faith. See? Let me read that again; listen close.

Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith... through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ:

Notice: He is saying, "I have obtained this faith, and I'm addressing this to them that has obtained the like precious faith." I want... It's not to the outside world; this is to the church (See?), those that are in Christ.

Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and through--of Jesus Christ our Lord,

According as his divine power hath given unto us all things... (His divine power now has given unto us all things.)... that pertain unto life... godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:

Whereby are we given unto--given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these... (these promises)... we might be partakers of the Divine nature,...

STATURE.OF.A.PERFECT.MAN_  JEFF.IN  V-2 N-18  SUNDAY_  62-1014M

  7-4    Now, let that soak real deep now. Not preaching this morning; we're just teaching this lesson. Divine Nature... Let me read that 4th verse again now, so you won't miss it:

Whereby we are given... Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these... (these promises)... we might be partakers of the Divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

See, the world--we've escaped that now. He's addressing this to the church. That's why we're here this morning is to find out what is the way; what is God's requirements? There's not a person in here that loves God, but what wants to become more like Christ. Now, its laid out here. Every Christian... I'm an old veteran. Look at Brother and Sister Kidd here; they're probably oldest in the building. But if I'd ask them, "What is your hearts' desire?" It'd be: "Closer to God." When you learn of Christ, there's something about Him that's so loving, you just try to get right into Him.

DIVINE.HEALING_  JEFF.IN  V-26 N-9  SUNDAY_  54-1219M

  138    I asked you awhile ago before I said this, how many of you love the Lord? And find out, you was all Christians to begin with. See? 'Cause you cannot be a Christian... This is not for the outside world. This is for people of the Lord.

You can't be a Christian, 'less God chooses you. "No man can come to Me, except My Father draws him. And all that comes, then I'll give Him Everlasting Life and will raise him up at the last day." God foreordained it, foreknowed it. Before the world ever begin, He said He predestinated us in Christ as sons of God--of God, before the world ever started. We got to be.

And because you've turned your back, and you seen people who have talked to them; they wouldn't listen to it. They turn their nose up at it. Yet, maybe ministers, maybe preachers of the Gospel, maybe what you would think was renowned Christians not even saved. That's right. Not even saved...

Look at those Pharisees back there, just as religious, and pious, and clean, and holy as they could be, and Scripture minded men like that. And Jesus said, "You're of your father the devil." See?

POSITION.OF.A.BELIEVER.IN.CHRIST_  PHOENIX.AZ  SUNDAY_  55-0227A

  E-24    And now, this epistle, the letter to the Ephesians, was written to believers, not to the outside world. This is believers. That's why I thought this afternoon first I'd test and see if there's groups of unbelievers, and sinners, then I couldn't speak this here. But now, seeing that it is for the believers, and the believers are present, I thought it would be good if we let the believer see where he is. Now, try hard, Christians, to understand that this day, that the message has been placing the believer in positionally place.

If every believer in here was in their place... Well, I'm so thankful that where the whole rows of wheelchairs set, there's only about two or three left in here. If every believer knew their place (a lady on a cot, the man with the crutches along there), there would not be a feeble person in this building in the next twenty minutes. That's right. If every man could simply find his place (his or her place) in Christ Jesus, what a difference it would make.

Now, I know... feeled your mind rolling fast. "Now, Brother Branham, I know where I am." You think you do. See? That's it. If you did, it would be different.

WHERE.I.THINK.PENTECOST.FAILED_  SAN.FERNANDO.CA  FRIDAY_  55-1111

  E-26    Now, we're going to speak tonight on a subject here found in, over in the book of Ephesians, which is a very treacherous thing. And it's not at all sent to--to the unbeliever; it's dedicated, this is, completely to the believer.

And now, I will read from the 3rd verse, just a portion of the 1st chapter, of the 1st chapter of Ephesians.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

According as he has chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:

Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,

To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us acceptable in the beloved.

In whom we have redemption through his blood, and forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

Now, a beautiful reading, and now, I may not, it's only without the grace of the Holy Spirit to make you understand what I see here, and applying it to the Pentecostal church.

But if you'll notice in the 1st verse of here:

Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints... (not to the outside world. This Book is sent to the saints. And the saint, the word "saint" comes from a "sanctified, or sainted person.")... to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful (i-n) in Christ Jesus:

See who it's sent to? Not to the outsider, but to the saints that are in Ephesus.

Now, if you'll notice in the Book of Corinthians... Oh, what a time Paul had with these Corinthians. They were all seeking after different blessings, and spiritual gifts. And Paul had to speak to them as to children. But when he come to the--the Ephesian church, he speaks to them in a different way. The--the church of Ephesus, they are a solid Gospel church.
