..Adam so loved Eve that he went out with her. Christ so loved the Church that He went with her

«  E-69       †        Oh, my, no wonder Paul could say, when he heard the axes out there, being sharpened... When I stood in his cell a few days ago, where they chopped his head off, and they was bringing the axe in, the old bee humming around him. He said, "Now, I got you."

He said, "Death, where is your sting?" It was left in Calvary, yonder. "Grave, where is thy victory? But thanks be to God, Who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ."

"God so loved the world that He gave," so loved... Adam so loved Eve that he went out with her. Christ so loved the Church that He went with her. "God so loved the world..." Adam went with Eve, and her wrong; she was wrong. He knowed the wrong, he was innocent, but she was guilty.

But Adam said, "I'll go with her."

And Christ looked at the Church, and knowing it was wrong, yet Christ went with us to take our place yonder as a sinner, to die for us, to take the sting out of death for us. Sinner, how can you reject such matchless love?

«  E-54       †        A man that's ever come in contact with God knows God doesn't do such things as that. They were perfect. Then after they had sinned... Notice, when they'd sinned and realized they'd done wrong, and Eve... Adam never sinned, the Bible said, that he was not... He... Eve sinned, and Adam loved Eve so well, till he took his place with her to leave the garden. Adam was not deceived. Eve was deceived. Adam wasn't. And Adam was a type of Christ in every figure. And Christ was not deceived and neither was He a sinner, but He come down and so loved His Church, Eve, till He went to Calvary for Her to redeem Her back again. Christ come to take the sinner's place.

«  E-55       †        Did you ever think of it, sinner? I thought this, "Me, unlovable, me, not worthy, and Christ, the Son of God, came down and become me that I through His grace might become Him. And we stand in the Presence of God not as sinners but as sons and daughters of God washed by the precious Blood of Jesus Christ. Amen. That ought to tear the heart of any sinner to realize that Christ become sin that you through the righteousness of His obedience to God might become Him in the Presence of God to stand without a blemish or without a...?... through the shed Blood of His offering.

And I see Eve and Adam standing there, heard their sentence of death pronounced upon them, and the tears running down Adam's cheeks and dropping off onto Eve's head, and her with her little head laying over on his shoulder, and they had to depart out of the Presence of God, standing there wrapped in those old bloody sheepskins. And as they started out of the garden in the Presence of God, I can hear them old sheepskins flapping together on their legs like that, as they went out. God, the Father, looking down and seeing His children being turned out like that because of disobedience, He stopped and He couldn't stand it. He said, "I'll enmity between her seed and--and the serpent's seed; and his head will bruise her heel, and her heel shall bruise his head," promising a Deliverer.

«  E-64       †        "But what's--what's the thing, Brother Branham?" God is looking and trying, and moving, and begging, and persuading to find a little heart that He can come into and coo and make love to.

Remember how He took Adam and Eve before the world was--before sin came into the world? Look at Adam, what a beautiful type. Adam and Eve was a type of Christ in the church. Now, remember, Eve did not sin. Adam sinned. That's right. Not Eve, Adam sinned. See? Not Eve, she was the one who did the act, but Adam done the sinning. The woman was deceived.

The Bible said she was deceived. She thought she was right. But Adam knowed it was wrong. See? And now, look, when Adam saw Eve had sinned and had done wrong, Adam walked right out not deceived but with both eyes open. But he so loved Eve that he took her place in death with her and walked out with her. You know that?

And that's exactly what Jesus done. The church is guilty. The church sinned. That's right. But Christ come and was made sin, and took the place, and walked with His church, and condemned sin in the flesh, that He might redeem His Bride back to Him again. What a beautiful picture, friend.

How the Holy Spirit's wanting to come to the church, how He wants to come in and make you gentle and kind and peaceful and quiet, instead of all this carrying on. See? He wants to love you. He wants to win Hisself to you. He wants to see a play of heroism. He wants to see someone, not stand up and scream or--He wants to see somebody who can stand up and be a--a lamb. He wants to see somebody who can take their place as a lamb.

«  168       †        In the beginning the Holy Spirit begin to brood over a bleak desert. Excuse my emotions. But when there was nothing, and have never been nothing, but the Holy Spirit was sent from God, not an intellectual, but the Holy Spirit was sent from the Presence of God to make love over the earth.

And as it was, He stretched His big wings around the earth, and begin to make love, or to brood, coo over the earth. I can see calcium and potash, coming together and a little Easter lily stood up. The Holy Spirit brood it out of the earth. And He kept brooding, and as He cooed and brood, I begin to see trees come up. Birds begin to fly from the earth. Animals begin to walk. And then He kept cooing, and a man came up called Adam.

And Adam looked lonesome, so He made a by-product for him, and took a rib from his side and made him a sweetheart, Eve. And He loved Adam, and He loved Eve.

«  171       †        And He takes them, and I can see little Eve as she laid her little head against the shoulder of Adam. And she was everything that a woman could ever expect and more. And as she laid against the big strong shoulder of her sweetheart, Adam, and they walked through the garden, perhaps, maybe the lion roared. She couldn't be scared 'cause there was no fear.

So he said, "Sweetheart, that is the lion. I will call him. 'Leo, the lion come forward. Sheetah, the tiger, you come here and lay down.'" And they followed them like kittens. The winds begin to blow, and little Eve's hair begin to blow.

And she said, "Oh, that wind."

"Peace be still." And the winds obeyed him. He was a son of God. She was his sweetheart.

«  174       †        And then I can hear him say, "Dear, do you see the sun setting? It's time that we talk to Father." So they went up to the cathedral, the great tree. And as they knelt down, all of the sudden a heavenly glowing Light came down, the Logos. The Holy Spirit that had brood them out of the earth, came down, Father, God. And He said, "Children, have you enjoyed yourself today?"

"Yes, Father."

"I have come down to kiss you good night, and to lay you down to rest tonight." He kissed them on the cheeks and laid them down. Nothing could harm. He was right in the bushes with them. The lion, He laid the lion down. He laid Sheetah the tiger down. He laid them all down to rest, and Father was so pleased.

Then sin by knowledge, intellectual... I hope you're getting it. By intellectual sin entered the world by trying to find more light, getting something that wasn't in the Word of God. God says, "The day you eat thereof, that day you'll die." But Eve wanted something new.
